Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644)

Height 27.3 cm (10 ¾ in.)

A large pale greyish-green jade bi with areas of light brown tone. The front is carved in relief with two vertically confronted dragons along a ridge rising like a pole from rocks and crashing waves below; the reverse is decorated with low bosses. Both sides are incised with comma spirals. The stone is pale grey-green with patches of light brown and opaque ivory alteration.
